About Us

Pipitea Childcare Centre was established in November 1988 for the primary use of children of public servants and from the wider community. The Centre is a parent/staff cooperative and a non-profit incorporated society and all surplus funds are re-invested in the Centre.

We provide a warm, caring environment in which children have the opportunity to develop emotionally, socially, intellectually and spiritually.  Our overall objective is to aid children to reach their full potential by fostering self-esteem and independence through a non-violent free play programme, which reflects the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and multi-culturalism as incorporated in Te Whāriki Early Childhood Curriculum.
