Our philosophy

Pipitea’s philosophy is the underpinning to our approach and is intertwined with our values. Our philosophy helps to guide how we achieve our purpose and vision.

Pipitea is a parent-kaiako cooperative that is a home away from home for all our whānau.

Our respectful relationships with whānau are what form the backbone of our community.

Kaiako are passionate about supporting tamariki and themselves, to reach their full potential.

We are committed to open communication and promoting inclusiveness in all that we do.

At Pipitea we provide high quality education and care, where tamariki are empowered to lead their own learning and inspire others through play.  All learning is guided by Te Whāriki, and by aspects of the RIE Philosophy, in a holistic environment.

We respect the unique status of Māori as tangata whenua and embrace the bicultural partnership of Aotearoa.

We are committed to embracing te reo and tikanga into all ako, and tuakana teina and kaitiakitanga is strongly woven into all aspects.

We are a multicultural community of learners that respect the unique cultures, languages and identity of all and celebrate that everyone is unique. The local community is an extension of Pipitea.

Collaboration by all is vital to the success of developing life long learners, through active participation we move forward together.
