How we work

Pipitea is a non-profit parent-kaiako childcare cooperative. We operate as a charity and we are also an incorporated society.

As an incorporated society, all parents automatically become members upon their child’s enrolment. This means that we are more than a childcare centre, we are a community. Please see the whānau involvement page for more information on what is expected of all our whānau.

The Governance Committee, comprised of parent volunteers, provides overarching governance and strategic direction. Please see the our structure page for more.

Our Centre Manager looks after the day-to-day running of the centre, as well as how the centre achieves its goals. The Centre Manager is supported by a Deputy Manager, our kaiako, and our other support staff. Please see the our team page for more.
