Student opportunities
At Pipitea we value the opportunity to welcome kaiako in training, students, volunteers, or those thinking of a career in early childhood education and teaching to join us. We provide a supporting and encouraging environment where everyone learns from each other (tuakana-teina). All current kaiako are fully certified and have developed mentoring skills and abilities to support students as their associate kaiako.

As a commitment to developing future kaiako, we act as the ‘home centre’ for a student that requires ongoing weekly hours at an early childhood centre. We offer these hours on a fixed term contract for the duration of study, and pay these hours at the living wage. This model is highly effective in supporting students with theory and practice, as well as the link between the two. We provide ongoing support throughout the year developing closer, meaningful, trusting relationships with kaiako, tamariki, whānau and our wider community. This is an important principle in authentic assessment and learning. We encourage students to grow, take on new opportunities and embrace lifelong learning. If you are interested in applying for a home centre student position, please contact us to see if we have any current student opportunities.

Reliever opportunities
On occasion kaiako are away from Pipitea due to leave or professional development opportunities. As a result, we have vacancies for qualified and certified kaiako, and unqualified kaiako, to act as casual relievers. If you are interested in joining our team as a casual reliever then please contact us with a copy of your CV and a cover letter.

Permanent opportunities
All our permanent roles are currently filled with our experienced team. Future opportunities will be advertised here.
