What you can expect as Pipitea whānau

Pipitea is a tight-knit, supportive centre – we live our purpose, vision and values in everything that we do. You will be encouraged to spend time at Pipitea, both during the settling-in period, as well as at any other time throughout the experience of your tamaiti at Pipitea.

We offer a convenient, inner-city location and consistently exceed the Ministry of Education requirement that at least 80% of our kaiako are qualified and registered early childhood educators. We have extended opening hours (7.45am to 5.45pm) and provide morning kai, cooked lunches, and afternoon kai, cooked fresh daily on the premises. We work hard to create positive, caring relationships and a warm, welcoming learning environment that adheres to Te Whāriki.

On the social side of things, we have a regular monthly schedule of events for whānau, including summer picnics, parent nights out, a pub quiz, and weekend café meet-ups. We have several cultural celebrations during the year which whānau are encouraged to attend. We also have a number of other support initiatives, such as a babysitting swap service.
